Discover our selection of high-quality modular seal rings here. These versatile sealing systems provide a reliable solution for professional pipe penetration sealing. What are modular seal rings? Modular seal rings are mechanical sealing systems specifically designed to create gas- and watertight seals for the annular spaces between two components. They are primarily used to reliably seal pipes or cables that pass through walls, ceilings, or floor slabs. Fields of application Construction industry: Sealing pipe penetrations in house service connections (gas, water, sewage), in basements, foundations, and manholes. Industrial sector: Sealing pipelines in machinery, plants, and industrial buildings. Building services engineering (MEP): Sealing pipes in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems. Underground utilities: Sealing buried pipelines, e.g., for potable water supply or sewage disposal. Function and working principle The primary function of modular seal rings is to ensure a tight seal between an inner pipe (or cable) and an outer pipe (or core drill hole). They prevent liquids (e.g., water, sewage, chemicals), gases (e.g., natural gas, radon), and foreign matter from entering the annular space. The working principle is based on axial compression. The modular seal ring consists of an elastomer element (e.g., EPDM, NBR) placed between two metal or plastic compression rings. By tightening screws or nuts, the compression rings are drawn together, which axially compresses the elastomer element. In the process, it expands radially and forms a tight fit against the inner pipe and the outer pipe. This creates a reliable and durable seal. Design Elastomer element: The core component of the seal, responsible for the actual sealing effect. It is made of a flexible and elastic material that adapts well to irregular surfaces. The choice of elastomer depends on the specific requirements (e.g., resistance to media, temperature, pressure). Compression rings: The rings that compress the elastomer element. They are usually made of stainless steel or plastic and are equipped with screws or nuts. Fasteners: Screws, nuts, and washers used to secure the compression rings and compress the elastomer element. Why modular seal rings? Modular seal rings offer numerous advantages over conventional sealing methods: Secure sealing: Ensure reliable gas- and watertight sealing. Versatile application: Suitable for a wide range of pipe and cable penetrations. Easy installation: Can be installed quickly and unproblematically. Durable: Provide a long-lasting sealing effect and are resistant to weathering and chemicals. Adaptable: Can be adjusted to different pipe and cable diameters.
